I think if it’s between those two then definitely wants and needs because:

A)Drake said what’s next is a “warm up ting” aka not an actual single for my album and
B)The whole concept of What’s Next is based on CLB coming soon so for it to make the album it would be pretty weird thematically no matter how well it does (it would be like that time where Hov was like “The Blueprint 2 baby on the way!!!” on the title track of the actual album lol)

I would prefer a completely fresh set tbh but I doubt that will happen. I’m guessing LNCL makes it as a bonus and wants and needs makes the final track list (which lowers my expectations for the album tbh; s*** slaps and both spazzed but that song is not life altering).

It lasted on billboard longer than In My Feelings and Nice For What

It was at 2.5M sold in Dec prob 3-4x Plat elig now.

idk if itll make the album (only because of how long ago it was) but it has better chance than any of these 3

I didn't say it didn't have a better chance than any of those 3 though? I agree LNCL is a better single than What's Next or Wants and Needs and obvious Lemon Pepper Freestyle ain't going to be a single. I don't think any of the songs is making CLB though. Only chance LNCL has of making it is if Drake want's to pad the stats like he did with Hotline Bling and just like with that song I think he will replace with a bigger hit like he did with One Dance.

It not going #1 has no correlation with it making album or not.

One Dance was bigger than Hotline but Hotline is still the lead single.

The only reason LNCL might not make it is if the album is super delayed

Hey you think it doesn't and I think it does. I just don't think one of the biggest artists in the world is going into his next album without his first single going number 1 for weeks. We both not Drake so we don't know for sure so just going to have to agree to disagree on that.

If Hotline Bling was the lead single then he wouldn't have just tacked it on at the end of Views and labeled it as a bonus track. The song that literary made him one of the biggest pop stars in the world and he relegated it to a bonus track. Why? Because it was released a long time before Views dropped and it didn't go number 1. Hmm sounds familiar?

I highly doubt it was JUST because of the time difference. It was the biggest hit of his career. If he never made One Dance it most definitely would have been his first single regardless of long ago he dropped it compared to Views because of the video it was still being talked about. But it wasn't because he made a better song. I don't think LNCL is the first single anymore because I think he has a better song now and I'm also manifesting that it isn't because I personally don't want the album to go in that direction.

Lmfao what the hell do you mean that it didn't fit the concept??? What concept?? Drake don't exactly be having concepts for his albums these days that's been kind of the problem. Only "concept" Drake had with Views was the whole Winter to Summer and back to Winter feeling so idk what you trying to say. Was Hotline Bling not a summer hit type of song? How exactly does it sound that different from the other pop songs on there? It sounds pretty perfect on Views to me have you ever listened to Controlla, One Dance, Too Good, and Hotline Bling in a row? It's like your on a beach in the Bahamas. I'd recommend it.

You want to talk about no correlation I don't see the correlation in you saying he wasn't getting number 1s like that until Scorpion. And? If anything that's to my point. He is one of the biggest if not the biggest popstar now and he is highly competitive I doubt he wouldn't want to go into this album without his first single going number 1. I ain't overthinking s***. I just made an assumption off of patterns, Drake's personality, and my own wishes.

I really like that song man just not as the first single to CLB. I don't really think the album should be sounding like that song fits on it. Should be going more in the direction of Lemon Pepper Freestyle imo and I can't really hear those two type of songs on the same album without it sounding incohesive.

You don't even know what I mean by that. You seem to be under assumption I want that exact song done like 14 times or something but what I meant was that I want him to, in general, be more lyrical and introspective throughout the project. Also have more soulful and unique production.
