I was giving it some thought the other day when I took a look at the game apps between me and my girls phone. On her phone she has some word puzzle apps, like subway surfer esque apps, and not many game apps in general.

Where as on my phone I had CoC briefly, Clash of Clans, PvZ Heroes, Soul-Arena, ect. All apps that in some way, shape, or form, have me competing against other individuals.

And then I thought about the games we play on console. She's got Animal Crossing, Overcooked, Sims, ect.

Where as I have nothing but competitive games that pit me, again, against others in some compacity. And I got to thinking about my pops. Growing up we used to play online shooters together. These days he's more into single player games and MMO type games. Where as I still run games like OW, Apex, ect.

Made me realize that when it comes to my approach to gaming, I've got this need and desire to feel superior to niggas. That's my satisfaction in gaming is beating other gamers. I love droning on in my girls ear about strategies I've made, stats I've garnered, ect. Whereas my dad and my girl find more solice in story games and things where they're only moving by themselves or in collaboration with others against AI.

So what type of gamer are you? What do you primarily flock towards? And what do you feel your pattern of games shows about you?

Honestly I've been playing nothing but single player games recently.

But when I do play MP games I wanna play competitive because PvE bores me

It depends for me, I think Borderlands and Fortnite STW were the last PvE games I enjoyed, but even then I never finished the new Borderlands, they definitely don't do it for me like they used to.

Both, but multiplayer games don't hit the same nowadays if I'm not with the squad, so I've been on single player games more

When I was younger I used to be a competitive type, but as I get older I gravitate toward more relaxing Puzzla type games or single player. I’m still competitive when it comes to fighting or racing games tho

Also I hate playing with my friends because they don’t f***ing play objective. All they want to do is watch their kill count go up so they can measure d***s. We always take Ls

I don’t play with friends anymore and the new matchmaking in COD got me infuriated so I really just stick to single player games these days.

I fw multiplayer shooters heavy though if a good new one comes out ima cop. 2042 was trash and COD washed, really praying on Titanfall 3 but I’ll check out what Respawn does with their Star Wars shooter.

Stand-alone mostly. I was never huge into multiplayer shooters, if anything I’ll play with friends to f*** around.

The most competitive thing I play is fighting games, which I try not to take too seriously because I don’t wanna play the game if I’m not having fun anymore

Interesting how like my dad, a lot of people seem to have grown a little out of competitive shooters with time

I pretty much only play SP games. Destiny is really the only MP game I play.

I like apex, played it until like szn 4 then haven’t touched it since. I like titanfall’s gameplay more, I’m a grapple god.

Single player gamerostly, ots my unwimd time i dont wamma waste it on people i do that enough.

But i do co op n competitive every once in a while tho, but mainly with friends.

i get competitive in fps & fighting games but other than that i usually play single player games to unwind

I feel competitive when I play PVP multiplayer stuff, but i kind of hate it

rather just play chill singleplayer / pve

Basically only online multiplayer games like halo/cod/2k when I was younger, but it’s been basically straight single player games the past 5-6 years. don’t have the time to invest into competitive games these days and they just don’t hit the same anymore tbh
