I can't put my finger on it but there's a certain type of power loving white dude with a generally conservative background that loves the fire department. Some of the things they say about patients makes me so happy they can't actually hurt anyone.
My department isn't super black friendly either and had nothing to say about the protests, police brutality or anything. Even though a huge portion of the department is black.

Well the morbid humor thing is normal, even I do it. After a bunch of rough calls in a day you gotta joke a little bit because otherwise you'll go insane. But my first in area is 90% black and I've heard people say stuff like "I'm tired of running all this ghetto bullshit." "I wish I had a hoodrat b**** to smash sometimes." S*** like that. It sounds a lot different coming out of a white mouth. That's what they are comfortable saying around black people so I can only imagine what's said when we're not there.

She’s upset cause she couldn’t see the food, and with the way people feel about cops now a days she was afraid that they were messing with it (spitting in it, etc)
someone with this level of anxiety showing an irrational fear over an egg mcmuffin can put peoples lives at risk in more serious situations. people are judging her in a uniform that can be changed when off duty.
law enforcement have been subjected to this negative bias for a few weeks now. imagine if that negative bias had existed for 100s of years. imagine that bias wasn’t do to a uniform that you can take off at you convenience, but instead it was caused by your skin tone
