Like what do you feel your duty is because of the fact? I think it’s too easy to dismiss the fact that we are guests in the culture and saying “it’s just music who cares” is total cop out.
On the flip side, what do people of colour ask of white listeners when taking part in the culture?
Please be civil folks, I’m just curious where everyone stands and if anyone ever thinks of it as a whole
Also I hear there’s a lot of people on here playing 5%er Pretender, so if you’re tired of carrying the burden of black fishing online... my dms are open. Your secret is safe with me
I think it might be a better question to ask black hip hop fans what they expect from white listeners
my duty is not saying the n-word when i rap along a song
This is BIG !!!!!!!!

Ahh and they just killed the thread
If you don’t fight for minorities voices to be heard, problems in the minority communities, or if you let racist s*** slide for the sake of making a conversation awkward, you have no right consuming any minority produced art/media.
Just my 2 cents and yes I am white as can be
as a white person who listens to some hip hop i don't feel my responsibility is any greater than it would be if i never heard a rap song in my life and that responsibility is simply being militantly anti-racist
I don’t really see the correlation unless you are like a racist redneck. Then you probably should not be enjoying the music at all
