The 21 stuff didn't do him any benefit either really. You look kinda crazy being a millionaire scamming for 40k and since YSL got rico'd the top dogs in atlanta have been doing the opposite of trying to play up to any street persona aside from lyrics.
Now they both could be idiots or have gotten a hefty check for this, but the cons for 21 at least don't really outweigh the pros. For Carti at least it being planned or not is just on brand behavior from what we know about his history
