it could def be interpreted the way you did brodie, just a minor mistake, dont fret
Face it folks. We dont need that deluxe
Carti do though. hope all is well w/ the label, this undersold and could effect his future sales for the rest of his career. it don't matter to us, we got a great album but fr hope this deluxe does really well and gets a hit

I think he will be fine. Red will go down as a cult classic either way. It will maintain a smaller (but consistent) listenership for a while much in the way Die Lit did and how that album went platinum. DL didn't need any fancy singles and neither does Red.

Die Lit had Shoota though. And I don't get the narrative that Carti isn't trying to make hits for the label, when half the album has songs like N3on, Place, Vamp Anthem, Beno, etc. He tried to please everybody w/ this album and compromised from what he really wanted to do. It might've been the label though so who knows.

Vamp Anthem and Beno are dope. I actually like how the album is fractured and not all F1lthy beats. It's fractured and two-sided like Cartis psyche. And shows us how Carti is fearless and not afraid to switch sounds (even within the same project)
The average Carti fan will have a bias toward Place and N3on because we've heard it before and it's not "fresh". I agree they sound weird on the album but I think its for this reason and not because the songs are bad or don't fit.
Idk yall Albums pretty perfect for me. I dont want a pressured deluxe release to taint that. Although i trust Carti with the decision

I really feel like this would've been a 10/10 album (it's a 9/10 for me) if it was 14-15 tracks. He switches it up on songs like King Vamp, Die4Guy, Control and Punk Monk really well, and are some of his best and most forward thinking songs to date, and would balance out the F1LTHY songs + songs like No Sl33p, Teen X, and Meh. It felt like he had that variation already, and smacked on a couple of songs from past eras that could've been left off (especially since he went out of his way to take off features).

I'm inclined to agree in fairness
The initial announcement of the deluxe really unsettled me because it felt like such a regression for him as an artist - felt like he was caving in to external pressure and that conflicted heavily with the punk persona that WLR had reinforced so well
The album is, as you say, perfect
But it has reminded me how good he is at making music and how really none of his contemporaries can ever come close to the boundaries he has consistently pushed against
I will never say no to more music considering that, and I imagine he is still in possession of content just as good as the material we got on the album, so if the deluxe provides that then I'll be very excited
Even so, the REAL TRUE WHOLE LOTTA RED DROPPED ON THE 12/25 AND WILL FOREVER BE A CLASSIC TO ME

I still think it works perfectly even at a hefty 24-tracks since some of the tracks are sub-2 minutes
The first-half of the project is certainly the more challenging half but I have so much love for it
In fact, I think the 2018-era tracks (Neon & Place) are the projects weaker points since they feel shoehorned in
