First off, you really can’t go wrong with a EVILGIANE beat. Some of my favorite production in recent memory aside from the west coast revival we’ve been getting recently.

He himself isn’t really that bad. I was honestly expecting something atrocious but it sounds like a bunch of dudes on that scene who throw a lot of autotune on their voice and use a lot of delay and reverb. It’s not really a race thing, more of a preference of style. I know a lot of dudes in the local scene who make music with that style.

It’s personally not really something I enjoy listening to, because I’m admittedly a bit dusty when it comes to my taste, but I can see why people enjoy it. I was behind on Carti and Uzi too for years before the Pandemic. I try to keep an open mind because sometimes the curb is ahead and we lack the foresight to understand it.

Carti has gotten more and more coherent and his rapping ability has only improved over time. Awful Carti used to rap then self titled - die lit he was just making sound effects and barely spitting. Wlr he upped his bars a bit and now he’s actually rapping. Maybe nettspend will start to up his pen and vocal range but now you can barely understand what he’s saying due to his vocals being drowned in autotune and he is legitimately not saying anything catchy nor interesting. The music sucks
