i've listened through the whole thing a bunch.

some of the verses are boring, and many of the songs feel like weird, misplaced loops building up to nothing—but that's also kind of why they're fire.

"crush" is the perfect example of this style: there's very little structure in terms of the usual verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus formula. instead, the song is basically a series of hooks presented in different versions. even though the verse itself is boring, it's more memorable and almost hypnotic precisely because there's only one verse.
