Good role models ? That's a difficult one
I'm not sure I agree in such a thing. Everyone has their own principles and morals and no one is perfect.
There's a lot of old time rockers who done some sketchy things. But Neil young has always seemed to.me like a guy who is principled, minimal controversy, used his power for good and has stood the test of time. With obvious fantastic talent and popularity too. If you wanted a long career and life with substance and purpose, what a terrific example he has been.
i think he has very good intentions and has done some great things (his charitable efforts are crazy), but he always comes across as old man yells at clouds from what i've seen
so u just anti looking up to ppl, huh

I would say I agree with most of the things I've seen him yelling about
Biggest L I've seen is him complaining about streaming quality and pushing his own super expensive music player
But I love his progressive politics and activism from anti racism in 60s to anti Iraq war and Bush to his environmentalism
And while the music player was a flop he is very innovative in serving his fans and preserving his legacy with the Neil Young Archives project
But this is what I mean about the role models thing. Some people don't want entertainers to be political or vocal about things, some people think its a must.
