PR trajectory aside, iont think tyler is such a far fetched suggestion as is being made out.

but since he's clearly the baseline for yal in this thread.. the only ppl with better overall streams than him that i'd care to see headline a solo aren't all that exciting:

Genuine question: do some of y’all understand the type of artists that get offered the Super Bowl Halftime Show?

I love all three of them but artists like Gunna, Ty Dolla $ign, and Calvin Harris are never in a million years going to be offered to headline the Super Bowl

i think my first 3 words and the preface about the discussions itt are already context clues for your coyly condescending question.

im speaking to the obvious stated criteria about "streaming numbers" and "household names", idc to be ultra realistic about who's getting chosen

you taking a fun thread meant for outside the box suggestions and damn near making it your resume for jay-z's position atp

few years ago people might've said the same thing about kendrick and bad bunny regardless of how much bigger the former has gotten since / language barrier of the 2nd... yet here we are.

Gunna should have a shot at it ngl. He’s a pretty good performer and has the catalog. He’ll never realistically get it but the title is “should” and gunna would definitely put on a good show

I didn’t interpret “should” as a “hypothetical/any artist you like” scenario, I interpreted it as “artist that is capable of being offered the show and hasn’t done it yet”

Not to mention I don’t think most people in here were taking it purely hypothetically, there were multiple users in here doubling down with serious arguments as to why they think Tyler could do the Super Bowl.

It’s not like someone just said Tyler as a joke name (in the same way that someone said NLE Choppa on the first page), the first reply in this thread is someone saying that “it’s obviously steering towards Tyler”. That just couldn’t be more untrue.

It has nothing to do with superiority, we’re talking about a football game concert

in general the obvious baseline for seriously answering starts and ends at capability, not who's most likely to be "offered" based on ever changing industry agendas.

again ure just reiterating my point about all of this being hypothetical fun. sure tyler has a long way to go per your criteria but you're handwaving about him being chosen is equally close minded which is why ppl have pushed back about his potential. thats what thread discussion is for..
