Not saying Travis started the dark crooning s*** first cause I’d be dead wrong, but Quavo and Set been hanging around Travis since the beginning, wouldn’t b crazy to assume they influence each other and their similarities exist for that reason

KTT love hating on Travis because their insecure and know that Travis is very much a reflection of themselves - a huge stan of Cudi & Ye - Travis was highly influenced by their sound in his early years and became successful off of it.

By the time Rodeo had arrived however, Travis had elevated his sound beyond just Cudi/Ye lite.

Almost ALL melodic, moody, ambient auto-tune rappers OWE Travis to some degree as he is the one artist who perfected that sound

Beyond that, his influence was partly responsible for the resurgence of Migos in 2017 with Culture - inspiration goes back and forward between him & Quavo quite clearly. As well as the Migos, influence goes back and fourth between him and Thug. Plus other smaller artists like NAV, Killy, Smokepurpp, Don Toliver owe Travis a lot of credit for shaping the sound they push.

More recently as well, was his sonic influence ALL OVER MOTM3
