Bizarre combo but hey people be making tomato sandwiches with just a slice or two of tomato with some salt and pepper between two slices of plain white bread so I guess the idea of that is somewhat present with watermelon and bread?
Hummus on a bagel with thin slices of tomato, with some salt and pepper on top is an all timer breakfast
He ain't even make a sandwich

Just sliced some watermelon into thin strips and put it on toasted buttered bread.
Gotta say it's the same kinda feel with a tomato. The sweet and salty combo worked for it and set it apart. However it was the flakiness of the bread/crust that kinda took me out of it
I see what OP is going for, maybe it works better with different bread.

Feel like that's pretty normal most fruits go well with oatmeal. I don't care much for it because I enjoy them on their own, but some people put orange and kiwi slices in their oatmeal. It does look pretty good, just not my thing. Prefer berries in my oatmeal

Feel like tomato has a savory element that would be missing in this case, but props to you for actually trying it haha
imo watermelon has too much water content and not enough flavour for this to seem appealing, im willing to try though apparently in turkey ppl enjoy watermelon and cheese sandwiches
