I think you’re alone buddy, most of us are plotting on something else. Like money or p****.

S*** I am too, It's like a subplot for me, in the background while I focus on the main quest.

How you be up here criticizing Disney and Hollywood, but praying for the downfall of one of the few who are pushing the limits of filmmaking?

Because it's not organic. Nobody really f***ed with avatar one, everyone saw it for the sake of it being cool technology. I've seen the film like 3 times.

    Once when it dropped
Once when my aunt got her 3D TV
and once like a year or two ago.

I can barely recall the plot, like it looks pretty but it didn't spawn any kind of organic fanbase or culture around it it wasn't even merchandised until Disney bought it. It's clearly Disney trying to buy and recreate the MCU formula, and almost 10 years later!?

Why?? It's everything bad about corporate filmmaking, sure it may be "pushing the bounds of filmmaking" but it's pushing it towards the overworked outsourced CGI houses and away from the unionized practical effects houses which is a dying art that will always look better with age.

It's supposed to be set underwater but what but about the Abyss which was filmed complete underwater practically? Like I get it but Cameron has already done the fully underwater thing.

Like yes avatar has the world to be a franchise but I'd argue there is more honor to be had in a new unique IP that's not over a decade old becoming a franchise because of an organic fanbase

    you're ridiculous.

thank GOD James Cameron is fulfilling an original and creative vision. thank GOD he's taking his time with it. thank GOD he has a full budget to do whatever HE wants.

in today's age, this is f***ing rare. and for you to be s***ting on it proves that you have some other issues that you need to sort out.

Avatar 1 being a hit was the definition of organic.

It's not based on a book, or a remake, or a sequel. It literally got big based off word of mouth.

It took Endgame 10 years of hype building to get close to topping it

me when i see y'all hyping up avatar of all films

  • i think avatar sequels flopping would be terrible for films & theaters as a whole

so no, I'm not plotting on them to fail

Plus James Cameron is a legend and I'd hate for him to have wasted 12 years on some bullshit
