The Weeknd wins in all categories, but Bruno still has classics

Hot take but I always saw Bruno Mars as a singles artist.

Silk Sonic is obviously a deviation from that but he's still largely a singles artist.

The advantage Bruno has is largely in his performances which are top notch and better than Abel's.

As an artist and in terms of discography, though, it's the Weeknd all the way. And it's not even close.

Abel has more misses than Bruno just because he's released more albums overall. I think Trilogy and Kiss Land are better than Bruno's best but it's not fair to compare because they're not pop. Strictly pop albums Bruno wins this easily. He's got 5 diamond singles for a good reason, he's mastered modern pop. Abel will go down as the most influential of them even if you like Bruno more

Bruno has a couple really good albums but cmon it's Abel easily.

I didn’t realize this was a hot take tbh, but you could argue The Weeknd has also been a single’s artist since The Hills.

Dawn FM isn't a singles oriented project though.

Bruno used to have the clear advantage on singles and I’m not sure that’s even true anymore.

Love them both, saw them both perform this summer and they both killed it. But that's the not the question here.

2010-2013 Bruno was solid but he didn't find his current form until Uptown Funk. Like someone in here mentioned, as talented as Bruno is and as amazing as his singles are, only 24K Magic stands as his best full album.

Bruno is great, but you haven't heard someone really say "man this artist sounds like a knockoff Bruno". You've heard plenty of people say that about artists trying to copy early Abel tho.

He's a perfect performer pretty much. But the issue isn't just the singing but the sound. Bruno has no distinguished sound, he's been doing some kind of throwback type of thing since Day 1.

Evening with Silk Sonic is better imo. Probably one of the most flawless albums I’ve heard in my lifetime

Ehhh I’m not mad at it but I much prefer Bruno on a New Jack Swing sound than what they were going for on Silk Sonic I think both are obviously good though!
