    How exactly? There are a lot of albums who can achieve diamond range just from single sales alone. How is that different from over 20 years ago? Single sales count towards Single certification and album certification. That’s just messed up.

    Yes, because people ain‘t listening to albums like they used to. Wouldn’t it make more sense to just certify singles instead of artificially raising the importance of albums? A f***ing top20 peaking song can go diamond, why certifying the accompanied album that has maybe 50k sales and no other gold/plat songs?

    single sales/streams count as album sales wym lol.

    lets say an album has 1000 streams all 1000 could come from one song or be spread out

    for RIAA 1500 song streams is 1 album sales which is why its way harder now for albums to go multiplatinum.

    however its way easier for singles to go multiplatinum
