i think drake and Kendrick are better at painting truly specific moments that are more relatable than p much anything Cole has ever spit - if you lived a life similar to Kendrick then you absolutely feel everything he’s talking abt on GKMC or a song like FEAR. and drake has songs that are perfect for specific moments of heartbreak or being h**** asf

but cole’s day to day is the most Everyman out of them both. The pictures he paints are a lot more mundane but I think a lot more people can relate to them, but I also think it’s something he tries for in his music, whereas Kendrick and drake don’t. I think his creative high point was when he completely let that shtick die to just tell a personal story on the title track of 4YEO tho

I swear the only reason cole is in the top 3 is because of his relatability

drake was relatable when he was the underdog, now that 80% of his songs revolve around how he's the biggest artist alive and everyone betrays him and wants him dead, not really. i guess it would be cole by default considering that he's just a normal hip-hop fan who managed to get his foot in the door and never really got enveloped in the celebrity life like other rappers have.
