Recent hits by SpotemGottem and Lil Nas X show the power of extending the life of a single track, album be damned.

The death of the Merch and deluxe scam brings on remaking the same song a billion times.

SpottemGottem with these remixes is one thing but the Montero stuff just looks like youtubers meming the song, NOT Lil Nas himself remaking it

  • That's kind of Lil Nas X's gimmick though. Remaking a single song multiple times. Did it with OTR, Panini and Rodeo besides his new joint.

Didn't artist use to do this back in the 90s like Bad Boy especially had everything from Bad Boy remixes to Rock remixes

If this is a scam it's one that's existed longer then most the sites been born

Like when does this become we are not listening to your song because we do not like it. Stop remaking it to try and convince us to like it.

Spotemgotems remixes seem more organic. Rappers just f***ed with the beat heavy. No one is really rocking with that nas song. Like that insane demon video didn’t work so they keep on trying to push the track on us.

Why is remaking the song an issue? Especially if fans want it and in a an era where people especially on social media sites have made that a thing.

Slowed & Reverb, Acapella versions of songs and 'Chill Beat" versions of tracks almost get instantly made when a record comes out by fans.

This way artist can at least get the money made off these remixes I don't see the issue.

It’s a scam in the streaming era. Back then it was just the mixtape era of rappers hopping on a sick beat to try and murder it.

I have no problem if it’s organic. I have a problem when it’s a marketing strategy to convince us that a song is hot when it’s actually not a hot song.
