I'm actually kind of split between these two versions of songs, as I've heard both of them over the past couple of years.

Rapping-wise, I definitely think Nas pulled it off better. The subject matter, flows, and lyricism have beat out Cole's version by good margin as it entails more body and edge. Vocally both are fairly equal, have no preferences over one or the other in this department.

However, Cole's version takes the cake musically in all honesty. The beat is more laidback and there's a warmer tone throughout the song. I didn't like the mixing on LIG and could've been better, but hasn't been too distracting.

Nas' lyrics were on another level that Cole can't reach lol

  • Underrated album. One of real nas’s best

  • I f*** with both heavy but I can relate to cole’s version more so I’m choosing that one
