Kenny Mason
new artists been dry
no new artists have not been dry. maybe in hip hop but there's tons of them out there. i think the artists that are gonna blow up in 2021 are artists that are currently already at a decent following but will really make bigger moves next year. so Benee, Kaash Paige, Dominic Fike, Baby Keem, 24kgoldn, Phoebe Bridger. oh and Kenny mason!
a boring answer but probably true. don't think a ton of new artists are gonna build much steam.
hopefully NOT that Yung Kayo nigga that this place and only this place is desperately trying to hype up
damn, it's not like Young Thug and Gunna are hyping him up, and even believe in him to the point that they signed him to YSL. but yea, it's only this place.
Probably

Or blackwinterwells these kid's making crazy music
it would be cool but none of these people are getting bigger than the niche they are already in, their music is way too grating/niche to garner any mainstream attention unless they water their sound down entirely.
tbh idk if all these people will blow up 2021 is stacked only a couple of these names will actually stick

ik what u mean, but i kinda disagree. people said the same thing about X but look at what he did. i feel like they have most of the internet behind them which is a huge thing needed to burst into the mainstream. and in terms of accessibility, glaive's EP works and is a bit more watered down and mellow with the new songs on it (DnD, 2009, hey hi hyd). same goes for eric on songs like thingsudo2me (which is shaping up to be his biggest song), kurtains new track superficial, dolly and wubz new song w/ thislandis, and quinn's new song 1234. i could be wrong, but i don't see them staying as a niche, especially with them progressing at such a fast rate and making records that are less jarring and more suitable for the mainstream.
-also if anything, i think a mainstream artist will come in and pick up one of them and bring them in as a main producer, kinda like how Charli got heavily invested into the PC Music branch and got A.G. Cook to help evolve her sound. so many of them self-produce or already produce for a lot of artists like Wells, so I think they'll make it in the mainstream in some fashion.
