its a rly neat way they use it tbh
they got like one main dude who trials new tech to see if it's useful and then if they decide it is they implement it only to the degree its beneficial for the whole group

The Amish seem cool as they’re mostly concerned with ‘essential’ technologies and not social media and tik tok and garbage like that. I don’t know about what practices they have that might seem more toxic but I prefer this slightly to the super materialist teenage twitter socialists that we see sometimes who have like expensive ass skin care routines and buy expensive high fashion outfits to support their favorite artist who’s basically a millionaire and attend festivals like multiple times a year - it screams hypocrisy.
I remember at one point I used to be into minimalism and minimalist YouTubers. For me ideally, my living environment is stripped down to essentials to minimize clutter making it that ‘stereotypical guy’ room. That’s fine but minimalism is a great philosophy under socialism. We only own as much as is crucially essential. I hate having to pack stuff up and move it. Fitting all my belongings into one bag or one car sounds dope and ideal.
