lil tecca got on nerdy glasses he’s not from no NY

"At 18, Lil Tecca has had more success than rappers twice his age, but that hasn’t jaded his desire to keep pumping out hits. With We Love You Tecca 2 approaching, the Queens rapper is prepared for both the love and hate."

in an XXL interview & in songs he's said he's from Queens

"I'm really from Queens but they say I'm from L.I"

It's kind of crazy how much clout other states are stealing from NY

    • Rap wouldn't be a thing without NY
    • Basketball wouldn't be a thing without NY
    • Tupac, MJ, and Posty wouldn't be a thing without NY

    Pay homage and be humble

Cardi B if it’s about casual recognition, if its about being an actual music star it’s Rocky Pop Smoke only blew up after he died

    megastars are casually recognized

    50

  • Pop Smoke was well on his way to getting there but then we all know how that ended. Asap Rocky too but NY never embraced him like that and he drifted more towards fashion than music anyway.

I would say 50 Cent was the last major star.

-Southern blues artists were "rapping" before hip hop was a genre

    -Canada invented

-Spent childhood there but their other hometowns had the biggest impacts on them

    • Rap was born from celebration, not woe. Disco and funk loops literally
    • First pro league founded in NY. First black league was founded in NY. BAA, NBA.
    • Born there, like rap music, and graced other regions with their presence
