genuine question: have you listened to other Detroit/Flint rappers?

no hate but I checked Ganger out recently and while I did like it, I felt the 2nd half dragged on and started to sound same-y. and truthfully i liked Uzi and boat better over the production.

and i just feel like the other detroit/flint rappers do a similar sound better.

to answer the thread topic, chronologically, Drakeo or Sada Baby depending on what year you want to date their rise at...

they're the only artists I felt like could be on Kodak's level since Yak came out.

Veeze makes good music but he is slightly overrated due to the Everyman quality he has. Hes relatable to a lot of niggas. A lot of rappers from that region that I would take over Veeze

i think there's a marketing component too but that's a great point. his perspective reminded me of my younger friends to an uncanny degree.

Drakeo also did that in a different sense. i've heard a few younger rappers whose music autoplays after Doe Beezy songs, who are doing some interesting stuff in that department too.

These two girls put out a rap album a year or two ago that was really good. I forget what their group is called. Lyrical stuff over some restrained electronic beats
