also feel like teddy riley was really trying to keep up with timbo in the late 90's/early 2000's. wouldn't say he was straight biting him but he dropped some of his worst production ever around this time trying to keep up with the times lol
!https://youtu.be/NToyuNOdIP8!https://youtu.be/ac6p3o9JeRMmeth was floating on this mess of a stock sound effect beat.
meth one not too bad tbh
Speaking of Beat Biters am I the only one who thought Slow Down and Ain’t No Way sounded kinda similar?
Sean Garrett for sure got inspiration from slow down for aint no way

Sean Garrett x chris brown made hits might be an underrated team tbh
meth one not too bad tbh
those synth sounding sound effects pushes over the edge of being unbearable imo. remove that and im not mad tbh. also the fact meth actually caught the pocket of that mess is impressive itself.

oh damn yeah this just a bobby v song lol
that booty song is booty everyone dancing off beat in the video
teddy was calling it rump shaker 2000
teddy a legend but its probably for the best we all act like this never happened.
@op anybody during that time that was biting their style, but my biggest guess would be Darkchild during late 90s
tbh i thought this was a Timbaland beat when i first heard it
and i remember Brandy directly admitting she was inspired by him and Aaliyah when making it
Whoever made this gotta be at the top of the list
damn
It's hilarious that Darkchild did all that to just let Timbo make an amazing remix on his ass
love Darkchild but that s*** def went harder than the original

no you’re not
It’s crazy how all the biters were making great s*** too lmaooo
good artists copy. great artists steal
Whoever made this gotta be at the top of the list
this is giving me Lil Nas X vibes.
Beat is of course One in a Million by Aaliyah
I definitely feel like everyone influenced each other around that time. There were so many great producers coming up during the latter part of the 90's and it's hard to tell who inspired who.
Timbaland/Darkchild blew up around the same time and Neptunes a bit later (They didn't really become a household name until after Superthug even though they were co-producing some of Tedy Riley's stuff before that). They all had their own signature sound yet they all must've inspired one another.
As a musical listener, I remember those years as the most innovative era I've experienced.

Very true.
Out of all the producers you just named Timbaland was able to shift the sound of music multiple times.
After Ginuwine’s The Bachelor and Aaliyah’s One in a million, you could clearly see that his drum programming was being emulated in Hip-Hop and R&B. And then he did it again with Pop radio for Futuresex/love sounds and Loose.
