3 pop albums in and y’all are still holding out for Abel to drop the pop
Let me have hope man 🥺
you're the biggest lupe fan on here. if anybody knows that it's you lol
But to claim he's inconsistent is wrong, he's been dropping heater after heater most of the time. His duds are from Atlantic (Which he's out of now), I'm not worried about him dropping mid lmao
Sampha
idk what it is about Process. it's so strong that i don't find myself starving for anything new. whenever it comes i know it'll be great. i feel the same about Melodrama.
I would say Process is the definition of a 7/10 for me, but it has a number of exceptional songs that rival just about any GOAT in the genre if we being real (Plastic 100C, Kora Sings, Under, Reverse Faults, etc.)
But yeah, I feel like if hes taken this long, the next project when it comes could seriously be Blonde or MBDTF tier. He's been bodying every feature hes done lately as well and Treasure was an amazing song too.

Atlantic was never the true reason why he was dropping mid / trash. That's just what he wanted y'all to believe. He was simply using them as a scapegoat. Ya boy was dying to experiment with trash sounds but didn't want be held accountable for going full wacko during those questionable years.

Sampha is a good pick. Process was an amazing album and even then, it still feels like he has more to say and the ideas on that album could be expanded on. His next project might be even more insane
I'm a huge Lupe fan, but I think the best he can do rn is a 9/10. Tetsuo & Youth is his best release ever imo but I don't know if he would ever get as musical as he did there since Drogas Wave saw him going into some of his other faults that hinder his albums from being at that 10/10 tier (overlong, production not always being the best it can be, etc.)
T&Y I felt was the first time he ever really seemed to care about being musical and having dope hooks and beats (for an entire project) as well on top of bringing the same lyrical energy he usually brings. But I got a feeling he won't be able to replicate that again.
Kendrick
Earl Sweatshirt
D'Angelo
Daft Punk been cooking too...
Brockhampton production and hooks will be insane probably, the rapping tho

We'll never be able to 100% find out, but he actually didn't have problem with the songs itself just the process behind it. It's just they pushed him to go for the sound direction in Lasers and Sabotaged his plans to make LUPend or F&L2 double-disc version.

Lupe originally wanted F&L2 to be a double album? That's dope, I didn't know that.
Whenever he drops Skulls, I think that's gonna be another phenomenal project.

Yea he wanted Part 1 to be the "heavier" album and Part 2 to have more mainstream oriented sound. I'm low-key glad part 2 never happened though, it would've been a continuation of Lasers practically.

i don’t want to believe that. After the Cool (masterpiece) I was hell bent on blaming Atlantic for his other projects. This man made T&Y and Drogas right after

He also made Drogas Light after as well. Let's not forget about that.
