He woulda gone out sad (musically) tbh. People forget he was becoming too obsessed with being associated with flavor of the moment artists.

He was all up Britney Spears, NSYNC, etc ass in 2000 as a grown man pushing 40.
Thriller’s 2008 anniversary release had Fergie and Will.I.Am remixes all over it.

He probably would’ve been working with Justin Bieber and Cardi B at this point.

He would’ve been on some present Madonna s***.

He probably would’ve been in the media eye battling accusations and such in this era imo

Sort of glad he got to put his legacy to rest while not tarnished

I honestly feel like he would’ve been naive enough to get involved in another scandal with somebody kid so yeah the death helped before his legacy got too far damaged

MJ and Kanye would have formed a duo after 808s .
Kanye moved into the Neverland ranch and instead of MBDTF we would get a concept album about childhood called Good Kid Maad Industry.
This album discourages Kendrick Lamar who quits music in 2010 and dies three years later in a shootout with Ab Soul
An angry J cole slaps Michael Jackson at the grammys in 2014 in retaliation for Kendrick's death
This is the start of a legendary rap beef between a reunited Jackson 5 with Kanye producing vs "Double J" J Cole and Jay Electronica ending tragically in 2017 when Michael Jackson is ran over and Killed by J cole.
Cole goes to prison but the audio of this vicious attack and MJ's beautiful musical screams are sampled by Kanye in a grammy winning song dedicated to Michael Jackson .

Now you tell me which timeline is better

yea bro met kanye, actually inspired him to do 808s by telling ye he liked his singing voice. MJ was in the studio for the kanye beat it remix too. they most certainly woulda collabed

considering MJ never put out an album after invincible even tho he had plenty of time to do so, I like to imagine he woulda basically retired and just done the occasional feature on some rap albums

Wasn’t his 2009 tour shortly before his death like a legacy type tour of something like that?
