In every thread
there is something about seeing people get emotional about differing opinions or disrespecting each other rather than acknowledging we all have a different perspective

Listen Spike Lee’s filmography is kind of a mixed bag but what he that is great has stood the test of time and has seriously flown under the radar due to a lot of the more controversial and dated gender and racial politics in his movies
Lee could make Inception but Nolan could never make Do The Right Thing.
The answer is obvious.
I don’t think Lee could make inception tbh
You wanted a mainly fantasy multiverse movie with a running theme of depression to be a grounded drama, which it wasn’t, and that doesn’t sit right with your personal preferences. Doesn’t make the movie corny or mid, just not for you
Lol they don’t grasp this
in a broader sense new wave of black independent cinema
"Themes
Lee's films have examined race relations, colorism in the black community, the role of media in contemporary life, urban crime and poverty, and other political issues. His films are also noted for their unique stylistic elements, including the use of dolly shots to portray the characters "floating" through their surroundings, which he has had his cinematographers repeatedly use in his work."

I'm saying. Spike's films are culturally more relevant than Nolan's films which use to be just entertaining action flicks.

Throughout the film, Lee explores the intersection of race and power in the context of the dream world. Cobb, a Black man, faces discrimination and prejudice from the CEO's subconscious, revealing the deep-rooted biases that exist in the corporate world.
Can u at least expand on what I said that was wrong?
i mean your entire interstellar summary was highly biased and not rooted in anything besides "oh i thought the message was cringe and some characters are annoying but BOY those visuals"
its not even....i mean what do u honestly want me to say to that?
even your criticism of the sound design in tenet made me shake my head. if anything DUNKIRK had CRAZY issues with the sound, not the other way around. idk it just rang hollow a bit. "Dunkrk doesnt care about the characters" thats because its not about the characters its about the setting and the event.
you KNOW this
And granted Spike has made a ton of movies you can tell he didn’t want to make, for example his Oldboy remake. In the bts of the film you can tell he has absolutely no passion for it

A penny for my thoughts woulda been better but you getting there
