I mean I went into this movie blind. Idek if I saw the trailer or not. I just viewed the thread on this site and it was getting praised along with everywhere. Decided to watch it, movie seemed cool so far in the beginning. Then as the movie went on, I didnt care anymore. Felt like the fantasy stuff dragged.

For example, Angelina Jolie wrote Unbroken with the Coen Brothers writing. Nothing actually exceptional or stylistic about her direction, but if the Coens did it, probably would be a different story

As for OP’s original post both directors couldn’t do either movie cause both have no f***ing connection to the opposing source materials

tough to choose tbh, can't go wrong with either of them. Nolan is more consistent in my opinion, but no movie of his is as good as Do The Right thing and maybe even Malcom X (TDK is close tho).
