i swear i knew....i knew and i clicked i anyway

If its not an original concept its not crazy to say another filmmaker could do it.
are u stupid ? nolan 100% provides a unique way to filmmaking and no one is on his level of doing those type of films.
if you want to ignore his original scripts, his execution and the precision to detail that makes his films so spectacular and unique.
its like saying lord of the rings trilogy isn't an original concept so any other filmmaker can make it yet none of the sequels or prequels released are even close.
Nah it’s just about y’all love it why would I in anyway involve myself in that when it’s in some ways too late to watch it
you sound like me with tattoos. i swear i think im past the prime age to get a tat. like...the older you get...idk it just feels kinda...sad or cringy.
idk if this is true
Not dislike . When I watch anything I don’t simply say “ like or dislike “ I break down different things I like and things I dislike what it made me feel or in this case what feels dated or holds up . When people get defensive they start saying unnecessary personal s*** or starting arguments
there isn’t even a menace to society thread
Ima be real wit you, this is all jokes aside. I think if you’re a person who cares about tv/films or just black culture in general, it’s valuable/important to see the journey of black films and how far we’ve came.
That doesn’t mean you gotta watch EVERY black movie ever made, but more so the essentials.
And this extends past movies, goes for music, art, history, politics in general. I’m just all for us educating ourselves about our history, and black cinema is apart of our history.
With all that being said, you aren’t obligated to liking any film just cus it’s ‘black made’ or considered a black classic.

Y’all could list literally 100 of your favorite older movies and I would have probably seen like 10-25 of them
You got to be stronger
yo this is crazy to hear from someone i feel attacked
i havent seen that many nolan movies but I dont remember seeing any and being like “damn this prolly one of the worst movies ever made”
so he wins by default

That being said, Belly is ass
i think its def worth a convo.
we can talk about cultural impact
legacy
filmmaking
writing
themes
rewatchability
i think its closer than some ppl think
cultural impact: Nolan’s entire filmography can’t sniff the cultural impact of Pulp Fiction by itself, let alone his entire filmography. Now Batman Begins and TDK each have immense impact on the tone that action blockbusters took until The Avengers reshaped everything
legacy: it’s Tarantino lol
filmmaking: Tarantino is an avid student of some of the greatest masters of filmmaking techniques in history, combined and remixed their styles and techniques into arguably the most instantly recognizable and stylish voice in modern filmmaking history. Nolan is a master himself, but there’s much less ground being covered and not nearly as expressive
writing: Tarantino is known as one of the greatest dialogue writers ever for a reason, is a master of balancing several genres and tones, and has written some of the most memorable films ever made with undeniably entertaining casts of characters
themes: maybe Nolan cause he goes for the deeper themes as they pertain to the human condition
rewatchability: as enjoyable and rewatchable as some of Nolan’s best films are, Tarantino takes the audience on unforgettable rollercoasters that stick with them for ages and stamp the cultural memory
That being said, Belly is ass
LETS TALK ABOUT IT. s*** is weak
opening scene is a Blassic. beyond that? stop
See I can’t even tell if he serious or not when he says s*** like that, even then who trolls like that? It’s weird

See how far we’ve come lol I’m worried about our reality. Like I get you but where black films are central to you I don’t care like that . I care if something is good storytelling overall or if I connect with it . I’m less history of film than you . Tv shows I’ve seen plenty

rollercoasters do not excite with age.
think culturally in the 90s tarantino had it on lock. now?? no one gives a shiiiiiiiiit about pulp fiction besides the writers of family guy. the boosting of that movie is one of americas biggest crimes.
i loved LOVED once upon a time in hollywood. NO one gives a s*** about that movie in the year 2023.
There’s no menace to society thread so lol I would just watch it and keep my thoughts to myself like everyone else on here
That being said, Belly is ass
Lmaooooo. I love belly, bias, but I get it.
That being said, Belly is ass
Belly was one people were shocked I hadn’t seen then I saw it and was like “ yeah I’m never falling for this again “
Cus I’m Super Nigga Man
dying cause I've definitely said this plenty times

So you just disregarded 80% of what I said. I’m talking black culture as a whole….nvm do you bruh
dying cause I've definitely said this plenty times
I think I’ve called you that too lol
So you just disregarded 80% of what I said. I’m talking black culture as a whole….nvm do you bruh
“ I’m talking about black culture as a whole “
Yes I get it’s pivotal to black culture at the end of the day it’s so central like belly where why would I watch it and risk being disappointed
