i said multiple times that I haven't seen menace but have consumed a lot of black art and that it was silly that you were telling me to explore because of menace and wood. Yes I was dismissive of them as in at this point in no rush to watch them but that has nothing to do with me watching black art

There is no victim here lol. its your own words and how you responded when I said people recommended me belly for cultural significance and you said "I didn't say that " which I agreed you didn't say that my point is and was people say many movies are culturally signinificant and great for being central to the "culture" then I watch it and I am like "ehhh". the idea of cultural movies is often defined by things like black twitter which you spend time calling them dumb

If you actually read what I said in that paragraph, I didn’t tell you which specific movies to watch, I even said “this doesn’t mean to watch EVERY black movies, just essential s***”….that’s why I said YOU have to explore and find what you like.

Me saying we have different taste isn't defensive its fact. We have different taste . I have said there is no movies or content all black people are required to watch or like. I said I as a black person obviously consume black art. We discussed Solange in the other thread . There is no trolling. When it comes to "culture" I believe some get so wrapped up in things that they can't just enjoy something for what it is or isn't sometimes because of its significance to the culture or history. This applies to white culture too with star wars or godfather or so many moments. Yes a movie can be historic or changed all of media but I can watch it after 2020 and I just don't personally connect with it like others.

There is no serious convo to be had about "you need to see the wood and Menace to society or we taking your race card " . So why would I react to it seriously. I said I didn't watch a lot of movies growing up of any kind. I am not a movie person in most cases. I don't claim to be a film buff on here actually the opposite I claim to like tv shows and do. I am not the OP of a bunch of movie threads that is you. I am not trying to write movies that is you. S*** even tv shows I am behind on many shows I have to be in the mood for them.

you like "you got time you in 30s watch these movies" . Same as Banshees of Ishin. Sometimes I just don't want to watch a movie or it doesn't interest me so I don't watch it . You are more passionate about movies. Got a criterion collection all this jazz. I do not. We take joy in different things and that is okay
