Hes literally the only writer of them
Its MJ and its not close
Dylan popularized the protest song too, or at the least made it listenable
That only mattered for like 2 years and it goes way beyond that
What relevant artists (not RYM core artists) are influenced directly by Dylan?
Iām sure you can name some, but the number will pale in comparison to MJ
Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Wonder, David Bowie, Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Marley, The Rolling Stones, Johnny Cash, Adele,Sam Cooke, Velvet Underground, Joni Mitchell, Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine, Elton John, Smokey Robinson, almost any "singer-songwriter" ever, dozens of punk bands, Post Malone (lol),
and you could find many many more, especially if you just count artist who covered his songs without necessarily going out of their way to call him an influence

Depends what you mean by influential. Iād say Bob only cause there were so many folk artists and indie artists back in the 60s and he was around all different types of subcultures.
Mj was huge but he was more iconic than influential. Thereās not many artists you can say ālisten to this gives me heavy mj vibesā and thatās not a bad thing.
Ur back
