idk if KTT could answer a question like this mfs don't bump folk like that or understand Dylan's impact

i mean i guess i'll still go MJ but Dylan's legacy and influence is not being captured in this thread at all. Its not the blowout you'd think it is

    Ooo

“ he didn’t actually write the songs, he thought about them in his head first and then sang them on a voice recorder he always carried with himself.”

    He didn’t write the songs.

So he came up with entire song compositions/melodies/lyrics but because he didn’t literally write them with pen and paper he’s discredited there?

    Bob Dylan?

  • Oct 2, 2021

Dylan’s effect on popular music and persona is pretty unparalleled unless you talking mj. It’s an interesting question but I think you gotta take mj.

I wish a lot of those being vocal about defending Bob weren’t being so elitist itt cause they’re inadvertently discrediting their argument for him (which is a shame cause there is one) but Bob Dylan’s influence isn’t as in your face and “young” as MJ’s influence, nor is it influential on the type of artists who are in your face all the time like MJ

But the type of influence Bob Dylan had is arguably more potent on a cultural level, and the most major traces of his influence are arguably a bigger deal than the most major traces of MJ influence

This really comes down to: do you value more widespread obvious influence vs do you value influence that isn’t as widespread but holds more cultural weight

To make it easier to understand for KTT: who’s the bigger deal numbers wise between Drake and Adele?

I would bet my life that you're a stupid piece of s*** if you don't know who the Beatles, Bob Dylan or Jimi Hendrix are but you listen to someone like Kevin gates or lil uzi vert.

So yeah lack of cultural knowledge makes you a dumb, stupid sack of assfat and you should be ashamed

    never that serious
