i find it fair that he's lost some (a lot?) of the mystery that made him alluring before

it wasn't hard to predict the lyrical material of after hours at all lmao

but he has good enough momentum now these days to just release as he does, so thas good for him

I used to think the worst fans of an artist where the ones who just came along after they got big but some of the weeknds older fans are so annoying. They aren't actually fans of the artist or music in general just fans of the mixtapes and saying s*** like "dude dark atmospheric r&b that you have s***too!".

what exactly is safe about after hours compared to any of the trilogy tapes?

Some of y’all need to understand that magic was caught in certain eras, and due to several circumstances that magic will never return. Be happy that Abel was once a broke & broken young adult who loved d****, singing, and was hungry to be heard. He’ll never be that guy again, ironically because of all you guys.

The way I see it his albums are always worth listening to. Yet I doubt we will get another Kiss Land or Trilogy I can at least walk away from every project at least loving a couple joints. And yes this is his best since KL though I doubt I'll love an album of his that much again
