Where is the diversity and creativity nowadays? Why every (mainstream) hiphop album nowadays feels like a long ass track/playlist w/o something unique? This why rap slowly dying out

You knew what durk was going to be giving you, this isn’t a reflection on rap as a whole

S***, you're lucky if you can tell the hook from the verse on some of these songs. Beats run together. Boring features. No strong concepts. All about how much music you can put out. Shorter album cycles. Rush jobs. Haven't heard Durk tho

There isn't the same quality of producers that there was in the 90s and 2000s.

Honestly I been thinking this for the past couple years. Outside of the big artist like Drake and Kendrick no one is pushing themselves anymore they just keep phoning in the same recycled style

Then to make matters worse we got half rap fans so jaded they say you shouldn't expect good music everytime and as long as it's decent or average they eat it up. The bar is in hell for hip-hop rn I can't believe It's Only Me and Jackman got the praise they did

These can't be the same rap fans that grew up with GKMC or MBDTF albums because every album felt like a movie and every song hit, now they playlists with the same producers and features
