I enjoy them new school music (Travis, Migos, Lil Baby), but why almost every guy sounds exactly the same, like a robot is moaning to my ears?

They are trying to copy early Future and Lil Wayne and 2008 Kanye, they made that style of rapping famous (Exclude T-Pain, cause this is RnB)

Kinda agree tbh. like if you think about it, they all kind of got that same vibe in common… and now don’t get me wrong, because I enjoy them new school music (Travis, Migos, Lil Baby), but why almost every guy sounds exactly the same, like a robot is moaning to my ears?

Never really thought about it that way before, but you might have a point. I enjoy them new school music (Travis, Migos, Lil Baby), but why almost every guy sounds exactly the same, like a robot is moaning to my ears?

Niggas copy pasta to ignore @op making a valuable point lol.

I feel ya. It’s cause lot of these new niggas hate they voices. It aint like future or ye where niggas is using it as an instrument they just tack it on their entire verses so they dont have to work as hard.

  • May 29, 2024

Yeah it's always the same thing, they don't have their own identity.

  • op is valid

a lot of these guys view music as a means to an end to get rich

i dont really blame them but you can definitely tell

Their Autotune settings are f***ed and they don't know what they're doing with it. Their settings f***ing up their natural tone.

The same way if someone were to use too much of one of those beauty retouchers for photo editing, the photos start looking unnatural

It’s easy and profitable to emulate what already works. Unfortunately that leads to over saturation and mediocrity.

But people still streaming and seeing them s***s live.

If I weren't so deep into the rap, I wouldn't notice the difference between Gucci and Quavo, it's like Gucci is Quavo but with different flow

Seen some of the perspectives posted in this thread and felt the need to just say that I enjoy them new school music (Travis, Migos, Lil Baby), but why almost every guy sounds exactly the same, like a robot is moaning to my ears?

Compared to guys like Nas, Pac, Biggie, Jay-Z, Snoop, Eminem, 50, Game, Busta, Dre, etc, these guys I named are from the new school bro.

In 30 years from now they will be considered as old school legends, while the nowadays old school will be a classical music

I grew up with totally different vibe 00's rap, which was on another level than what we hear nowadays, they still new and fresh, cause tbh, Lil Baby for example has yet to reach his best phase of his career, still the same for Scott, cause they still young in their early 30

That's what I am trying to say, when they are my age (28), they will listen to Versace and say "Man, that's the old school I grew up with"
