Had a itch to play the old saints rows so found SR2 for 3 bucks on steam. Put this expensive laptop i hardly use to work

Lol but no I remember SR2 having tons of interiors and everything. Anyone else fw it? I liked the first (2006) one too but didn't see it on steam

Anyway I don't know why they moved away from their gameplay/style and atmosphere once 3 hit. Maybe they were afraid of trying to compete with GTA. It wouldn't outsell it or nothing but would be nice to have a straight competitor in that space. I loved the original 2 games because though they were silly, they we're still silly and based on gangs. And the worlds felt amazing at the time. That recent "reboot" was the perfect chance to either remake SR1 or 2 or some combo of both with next gen graphics and they dropped the ball

Bruh it's funny you mentioned that. I just said I got it on steam not knowing it crashes like a mf. That's disappointing as I've done all the tutorials I've read . It's ridiculous. I'll give it another go at some point.

For now I'm messing with driver parallel lines which I haven't played but always looked intriguing

@op they weren't afraid of competing with GTA, they were notably afraid of the controversy that comes with the genre

Saints row 2 was great

3 was great too fun wacky ass game

Every piece of me hated SR4 and it’s still better than that reboot, so SR 2 smokes it

Really fun game, but legit ugly as HELL.

Super underrated game imo, it just sucks that you have to jump through so many hoops to play a stable/working version nowadays

Absolutely. Probably the number one competitor with the old sleeping dogs that's anything close to GTA (both franchises do certain things better than GTA actually) and of course one franchise just quit after a dope as project and the other just dropped everything that made the originals great . I don't get it.

Wish I would have read before hand the damn steam version of SR2 don't f***in work and crashes every time ugh
