After the dreadful J Cole grippy verse came out this week a lot of the insults was his age. As he’s 36 it’s embarrassing to be even rapping like that.

Drake has been laughed at for recent verses in comparison to his age.

In the start of the 2010, 2 Chainz was 34 when he did birthday song and well into his 30s on plenty of songs.

Snoop Dogg was 38 and did the feature on California girls.

Lil Wayne and Future both 41 and have done plenty of songs in there mid 30s.

Kanye was 35 when he was eating Asian p**** and all he needed was sweet n sour sauce.

Because most of the newer gen's dumbasses built off hate. They got the social engineering hate program stuffed in them

Like who cares, some of our favorite artists went beyond the stereotypical ages and still evolved musically

I don’t care, but I would be interesting in hearings someone opinion on what age of artist releases music changes anything.

People dont mind you "being old" in Rap

They just dont want you to tryhard to fit in or try to pretend that youre part of the young boys still

Act your age, and you can still be great

This has always been a thinf, Jay got clowned for MGHG & BP3, but people dint clown him for WTT and 444

Same with Nas latest run, no one clowns him for his age

Its about trying to hard to fit in & also not reading the room or embarrassing yourself

This extends into real life outside of music too

People have been doing this to Future this decade as well

But someone like Pusha T, Freddie Gibbs and Griselda dont get made of for their age because they do their own thing & also if they do something "trendy" they usually do their own version of it

You just gotta stop act like a young boy if you not a young boy, and you can still make it work

Which Kanye from TLOP to Donda 1 did make it work, people didnt clown on his age for a while until Vultures 1

People on this site are getting older on average and are thinking about age more

That sweet and sour sauce line was perfectly fine at 35 mainly because the delivery was just so damn good

I love the line I’m just saying for a 35 year old it could be clowned on.

I feel like once you hit like 38 you’re officially “touching 40”

Should you not be able to rap about getting money, women and d**** at 40?

Depends on what image you’ve cultivated tbh. Cole has created an image that doesn’t really fit for that s*** he’s usually praised as being a new age conscious rapper

Vultures 1 would've been better received if he sounded hungrier or more entertaining with those lines.

Burn is my favorite song off the album because it's Ye's best mic presence on the album.

But bro rapped like he didn't even want to be in Vultures(title track) which made the shock lines sound worse.

His heart hasn't been in the music for a while.

I wouldn't even say that. I just think he was confused as to what direction to go in for Vultures and winged it to get the album out.

His heart still sounded like it was in music with Donda, his beats on It's Almost Dry, and his executive production of Whole Lotta Red.

I just think Vultures 1 specifically was just him going through the motions to get a comeback.

i feel like ageism is a thing more now than in the 20th century. wasn't 50 cent, eminem, and nelly all around 28 when they dropped their first albums? that's kinda old for a new artist now where you need to get established younger
