not really. hidden likes punish skimming.

for example if you have visible likes you can skim through a thread and maybe spend more time on the high liked post

if you have no likes and only quotes, the most liked post will get quoted a bunch of times so you will also see it while skimming

but with hidden likes, you have to stop and hover on every individual post to try to find out.
