Em literally acknowledged his success was only because he was white lol.
I think to say its ONLY cause he was white is a bit much and he didnt say it was ONLY because he was white
But him being white definitely added a lot to the appeal and also made it a lot easier for him to say certain things and still have such big looks and respect
lmao exactly what I thought, Em is the only successful white rapper and you know that's not going to change
His early music is objectively edgy asf mixed in with a tap of seriousness.
Well Eminem Show and Encore are not really shocking and more personal. Infinite too.
rain man is a classic dre beat with eminem flowing like crazy but saying absolutely nothing but gibberish and i f*** with it

Plenty of rappers do that for a whole album now, it's called trap

Yeah he is white. Yes we know and he knows obviously that helped.
However. And I believe Dre said something about this at some point a while ago, He was super talented man
That's why he didn't just get 15 minutes of fame. He wasn't asher roth. Or some forgotten rapper. Howard stern dismissed him and believed he was a gimmick rapper. But bro he's still around 20+ years later. Not going stan bro but come on... he brought a lot of creativity and talent to the game.

“Look at these eyes, baby blue, baby just like yourself, if they were brown, Shady lose, Shady
Sits on the shelf, but Shady's cute, Shady knew, Shady's dimple's would help, make ladies swoon
Baby, {ooh baby}, look at my sales, let's do the math, if I was black, I would've sold half, I
Ain't have to graduate from Lincoln high school to know that”
I mean Dre had his hand of course but him being white was the biggest assist under Dre next to him having a way with his words.

Em isn’t the only successful white rapper lol
Mmlp2 is up there too tbh. Forgotten underrated for sure. I'd give it a strong 7.5
Rhyme or reason, love game, bad guy, berserk (guilty pleasure party banger lol), survival for gym, groundhog day, don't front, legacy are all slappers edit and brainless
Lmao what even is fack too
I still remember my buddy putting that s*** on the car stereo back in school. I was like wtf 🤣 kinda classic though. Dude was a living pill.
I remember when he dropped when im gone I legit thought he wasn’t coming back then released the re up compilation followed by relapse
but then he listened to the critics and aside from some songs he dropped recovery instead of what was to follow underground
it would of been glorious

Saying you would have sold half of like 1 million+ copies isnt saying you ONLY have success because ur white though
Like I agree he benefited heavily from being white , im just saying it isnt the only reason for his success.

Real f***in post!
Like bro in class and s*** I'd play recovery and like you know, it had its moments for sure (intro might still be my favorite along with the wayne collab, the personal tracks like going through changes are respectable but you know... ya I don't go back to it much nowadays.
Relapse though whew. Tyler nailed it, as you said he started doubting himself and tried to go more pop. But luckily I feel he brought it back with mmlp2 a bit more, felt at least he was trying to experiment again but yeah I feel for the guy he's trying to please like 10 different types of fans lol

Anyway, anyway, I don't know how else to put it
This is the only thing that I'm good at
I am the bad guy, Kryptonite, the green chronic
Demonic, yup, yup, don't worry I'm on it
I got it
And still raised 3 lol
I use to hate working at my job but I still went in anyway
what’s ur point?
