"-Huge portion of his fanbase hates Hip-Hop and is unsubtly just racist (definitely not as much since he alienated them in 2017):
generalizing lol eminem has hundreds of millions of fans dude. It's like me saying everyone from the south f***s their sister
"-Has been ass for about as long as he’s been good (1997 to MAYBE 2010 with misses in between vs 2011-2023 where it was mostly misses)"
2011 was the year Bad Meets Evils album came out. It was dope.
Kamikaze, MMLP2 and some parts of mtbmb were all dope especially mmlp2.
"-He didn’t start dropping mid music, he started dropping COMPLETE GARBAGE."
Some songs like venom and untouchable and most of revival sure. But not all of its that bad.
"-His style of lyrical content was controversial even at the time and doesn’t translate nearly as well today."
Lol maybe if you're perma offended and a frequent Twitter user imagine being put off by Shadys 20 year old lyrics that were tongue in cheek and satirical btw
"-He didn’t die in the 2000s (It’s an amazing, beautiful thing that he’s still here with us. But he has to become old and uncool slowly in front of everyone’s eyes. That is a crisis that every legendary artist will have to contend with at some point and some artists struggle with transitioning and aging"
"Didn't die which is beautiful btw but damn he is so lame now" this is so transparent it's crazy wow. Bro had to relearn how to rap sorry he didn't make another freaking mmlp bro. He almost died but let's give the poor guy s*** forever cause he's not an angry 20 year old anymore. Look your other point about an artist struggling with aging is legit but I don't like the way you phrased that it just feels kind of fake because so many people are like LOL BRO EM GO BACK TO D**** U SUCK NOW L9SER U SHOULDQ DIED!!! Like it's just lame to think that way. Maybe I'm being less charitable to your response than I should and you likely didn't mean it but this whole post feels very snarky and feels kind of played out. Hating eminem isn't even cool anymore it's low hanging fruit picking on an aging legend who's doing his best in a tough climate he doesn't fit into. I know you brought this up, my annyonave was more at the people I mentioned of you're not one of them.
"-He has a profound love for Hip-Hop which he expresses in a way that’s considered outdated and corny to a lot of young people today."
-His fast choppy flow has been wearing thin.
I didn’t say all or even most of his fans were racist, just that a lot are (true)
His lyrics are abrasive and that is intended. It’s not about being sensitive or not. His content alienated people especially now and that’s part of what made it great. You don’t have to be a Twitter SJW or whatever to find his lyrics offensive. Some of his stuff is extremely out there and you’re giving him too little credit acting like it’s not.
And you misinterpreted my last point so hard that I don’t even know where to start. The same thing I described happened to Bowie.
You asked a question and I gave you several answers. Never even said I agreed that some of this stuff should be used against him, just that this stuff contributes to people’s disdain for him. You may be too emotionally invested in this topic
Don’t do that
All the jokes just flying over your head. No wonder you don't get Eminem.
Yup. Keep spitting king.
Old, white, racist fan base, not relatable, corny, doesn’t encapsulate what hip hop is about
I didn’t say all or even most of his fans were racist, just that a lot are (true)

Reach. Would you say the same about other white rappers like Mac?
Hell even Tyler had fans booing drake. Does that make his fans racist white kids? Or maybe that's the vocal minority. Cough. Same with Eminem. Plenty of normal liberal Eminem fans. I mean he'll bro, Eminem literally said he didn't want trump supporters as fans and drew a line in the sand. So he lost lots of those rednecks. I mean sure plenty still around but I think it's unfair to claim most of his fans are that hick stereotype when most of his sporify plays come from tiktok lmao.
Uh addressing the last point, I get where you were supposedly headed with your old aging artist point and its valid. I just found the way you phrased it kind of condescending but that's fine. I may have come off a bit too emotionally invested at times in this thread and I own that. I used to be obsessed with the guy as a teen so it makes sense there's a lot of nostalgia there and I think that's why it sucks to see him get s*** on and mocked so frequently when once he was put up there with Pac and Biggie. You know? Kinda sad.
Nunyabeesewax. Also who cares? Are you a chair?
Nunyabeeswax.
You straight from Dr Yakub’s lab
Lol yeah you right tbh but I was just trolling tbf
Nah I know
, I laughed
As someone who was first introduced to hiphop at a super young age by Eminem, everything about his music back then fit with the time and stood out, it’s clear he has classics under his belt but the man didn’t know how to evolve artistically, compare him to his contemporaries where there’s more creativity or passion going on, Eminem sounds like he thinks he’s the s*** but every other bar is a dumb or cringe joke. If he’s not taking it serious why should we?
There’s nothing really special you get out of modern eminem, it’s pretty much the same old song. Relapse was the last time he tried a different sound and he still messed it up with the accents and s***.
He can’t even mentor right, yelawolf is a redneck weirdo and slaughterhouse was middle aged men trying to make pop rap
90s and early 2000s Eminem was nothing to play with, he had a legendary run, but that doesn’t mean his later s*** didn’t somewhat taint his legacy
He just don’t got any classics in my opinion
you're a pleb tho so who gives a s*** about your opinion
Songs like My Fault and My Name Is are absolutely goated but something went seriously wrong with encore and then after the d*** phase the records just got cringe like space bound and not afraid.
Made 3 classics and after that almost everything trash and people still say he dont miss smh. His fan base is full of wannabe rap gurus. Or even better those guys that say i dont like rap but i like eminem. He should retire
Quit playing with the scissors and s***, and cut the crap
cus he has like 3 good albums out of 11. it also doesn’t help his first 2 albums were classics and he never lived up to his potential quality wise. (even tho i think relapse is fire i understand i’m in the minority tho lol)
Because since 2002 he has only 1 album people consider good (Relapse)
Thats 21 years releasing ass
Also his music aged really bad like it or not, and his fanbase has stained his image
He hasn't been a truly great artist since 2003. 2004 to 2008 was the darkest part of his career (and life) and the music was bad. Then he was "good" but inconsistent from 2009 to about 2013....and has been pretty cringeworthy since then.
Most of us old enough to remember his greatness are beyond frustrated with him musically, especially since he still has the technical skill to be great
marshall probably deserves some love for his early stuff but now he's mr bean status worldwide so he'll live
