His lyrics are abrasive and that is intended. It’s not about being sensitive or not. His content alienated people especially now and that’s part of what made it great. You don’t have to be a Twitter SJW or whatever to find his lyrics offensive. Some of his stuff is extremely out there and you’re giving him too little credit acting like it’s not.

I used to be obsessed with the guy as a teen so it makes sense there's a lot of nostalgia there and I think that's why it sucks to see him get s*** on and mocked so frequently when once he was put up there with Pac and Biggie. As someone who was first introduced to hiphop at a super young age by Eminem, everything about his music back then fit with the time and stood out, it’s clear he has classics under his belt but the man didn’t know how to evolve artistically, compare him to his contemporaries where there’s more creativity or passion going on, Eminem sounds like he thinks he’s the s*** but every other bar is a dumb or cringe joke. If he’s not taking it serious why should we?
There’s nothing really special you get out of modern eminem, it’s pretty much the same old song. Relapse was the last time he tried a different sound and he still messed it up with the accents and s***.
He can’t even mentor right, yelawolf is a redneck weirdo and slaughterhouse was middle aged men trying to make pop rap
90s and early 2000s Eminem was nothing to play with, he had a legendary run, but that doesn’t mean his later s*** didn’t somewhat taint his legacy

Songs like My Fault and My Name Is are absolutely goated but something went seriously wrong with encore and then after the d*** phase the records just got cringe like space bound and not afraid.

He hasn't been a truly great artist since 2003. 2004 to 2008 was the darkest part of his career (and life) and the music was bad. Then he was "good" but inconsistent from 2009 to about 2013....and has been pretty cringeworthy since then.

Most of us old enough to remember his greatness are beyond frustrated with him musically, especially since he still has the technical skill to be great

marshall probably deserves some love for his early stuff but now he's mr bean status worldwide so he'll live
