May 22, 2022Future ain’t a lyricist in the traditional sense so people want to discredit him compared to the big 3. Where Future really shines is his melody, flow and the vibe he puts in a track. Puffin on zooties is a great example of that. Lyrically it’s nothing special but the way he approached that track nobody can do that and that what makes future unique.

He had the most consistent run of the 2010’s between numerous features, several albums, collabs with pop artists. Drake’s run was bigger definitely tapers the later part of the decade
Is it cuz he primarily raps over trap production? Idek what to tell you but it’s definitely real

It’s all aesthetic though and the way he’s presented
He’s a genius with melody and song structure and hooks. Few are as catchy as he is. But it’ll always be impossibly hard to put him next to rappers that can rap bar for bar really well.

From a success and notoriety level it isn’t. Super is god level at making catchy melodic records.
But he’s even close to those 3 as rappers. Would be incredibly disingenuous to put him next to those 3 RAPPERS when he’s not close to the RAPPER that they are
