Music listeners who post on the internet are passionate about good music going far. At some point around views online listeners and critics started panning his albums (Her Loss is honestly only one as of late I don’t really see dissatisfied opinions for), but his sales kept going up- Scorpion, CLB, etc still did great. It’s pretty rare for an artist to be at the top of the hip hop game sales-wise and disliked by passionate hip hop fans. Don’t think most passionate listeners can stand that, and it’s hard to argue his album quality wasn’t declining for a while there.

• He’s been in direct and indirect conflict with a numerous amount of artists that have their own fanbases
• Has given people a lot of latitude to pick him apart from how he acts, dresses, talks etc
• Social media rewards negativity so when you see point #2 and combine it with this point it obviously will drive interactions
