i honestly think it’s just cause he’s freestyling most of the time or rapping some lyrics that were given to him and he’s only doing one take

all over donda you can hear his vocals literally being spliced together from multiple botched takes and even the reference track from someone else

i think kanye having less time due to his business outside of music being so successful drastically effected the care and time he was able to put into his own stuff. like on off the grid you can feel he actually sat down and put time into perfecting his delivery on that verse. most other verses are recorded on a phone and poorly edited together

tbh i always wished ye retired after tlop so he could have a truly perfect discog with all classics.

ye was dope but it had too many misses for it to only be 20 mins, probably largely because it was made in a week

jik was just poorly done and inconsistent to me.

donda had moments of brilliance surrounded by filler, almost as if he was having trouble deciphering what was really essential. and so much of the production was stripped back to where it didn’t feel like minimalism, it just felt undercooked. remember one of those listening parties where almost NONE of the songs had drums? lmao

i’m glad he’s giving other artists these songs and letting them take them where they need to go

There is no song on Utopia better than Come to Life. In fact idk if he has a better song in his entire discography while that would be a top 5 kanye song at best.

I think most people just expected something more unique from Travis.

I'm sure the artist should have control of what his discography is and it should be his tension how it's perceived rather than random internet users.

i could definitely see him never dropping again because

• no label budget
• no pressure or contractual obligation from a label
• no incentive or desire to tour new music
• donda 2 stem player fell apart which hurts core fans trust in spending money on you
• streaming doesn’t pay enough
• hiring somebody to clear beats, samples and features is an added hassle
• antisemitism debacle is too big to overcome

for as expensive as a kanye album is to make, idk if he wants to pay that, knowing he doesn’t want to tour and his bankability is lowered
