The defense budget is essential to pass regardless of what else is happening in congress, and is pretty irrelevant to stimulus spending. $700b is just a fraction of what we have already spent on stimulus so far.

It’s pretty much a non-partisan decision and an essential part of the budget and really has nothing to do with stimulus one way or another.

Only when you dishonestly represent the situation as if rubber stamping the budget proposal is somehow occupying resources that are needed to get a decent stimulus package settled on.
