    OOoooooooooh now it makes sense

you the Brazilian conservative equivalent of that neighbor that files a noise complaint /calls the police.

    Did you read the article?

That s*** ruined so many neighborhoods. I'm pretty sure other people in the neighborhood just want to sleep so they can go to work the next morning. But no, they have to deal with these loud songs with a bunch of armed man and teenagers using d**** and having s***lol

People would feel the same if it was rock music or any other genre. Loud music at 3am???

this has nothing to do with phonk besides sharing the same pronunciation, stop f***ing saying that

it's clearly its own thing. derived from miami bass but sounds totally different now and is closer to more modern strains of hip hop. also apparently reggaeton's not popular in brazil

clearly influenced by distorted records off Asap rocky’s artrap masterpiece Testing.

they even had a testing realse party they love asap

    1. you giving me one article that doesn't translate to the overarching sentiment that Brazilians are embarrased about how they're portrayed (and solely blame baile funk music for that)

    2. I was clowning a whole mod ITT fetishizing the country cause I don't believe this speaks for a whole culture/country. The same I don't believe dancehall speaks for all the Islands nor do I believe reggaeton speaks for all spanish speaking countries.

    3. This is definitely giving "rap music is bad for the kids" vibes because of a few bad apples type s***

    4. I just like the music dawg. And it wasn't because of the "raunchiness" my nigga the backdrops and the syncopation of the s*** be hard as hell. One of my fav joints is this

there are a lot songs people like it, mostly because of the beats. this one is a good example. it has nice lyrics and good production

but the vast majority of genre is not like this.

According to rym funk mandelão and beat bruxaria (the trending funk songs' specific genres) derives from Funk ostentação (late 00s genre from Sao Paulo) that has heavy influence from hip hop, so we're not wrong in saying it has roots in hip hop but this is a stretch

808s/stupid bass and the stretched out vocal samples

Again if y’all have something that has the 808s and wild ass production and sounds like this (not vaguely being in the same realm of genre but actually sounds like this) and predates Yeezus please post instead of saying this dumb ass s*** over and over jerking each other off lol “🤓🤓🤓 I know more weird abrasive music than Yeezus” lol

It's not a stretch to say funk songs like these and Yeezus had different influences. Brazil and the rest of SA have a huge underground art scene of boundary pushing edm, industrial and electronic music. They left Europe and NA in the dust a while ago

Just search up "post-club country mixes" on mixcloud or soundcloud

And really the only Yeezus song to hit worldwide was Bound 2 which isn't even industrial

  • Aug 14, 2023
    Zero

I learned about this genre 10 years ago thanks to Sango

I was listening to sango back then too and nigga what was he putting on SoundCloud that sounded like this Lmaoo

It was way more bright and traditionally in that sound with the percussion patterns and s***. Lowkey he was ten years ahead of his time but that’s a whole nother topic

baile funk singlehandedly is what is wrong with Brazil, and not the economy/racism.

    We figured it out

Yes, it's a big problem with major consequences in certain major cities

This teenager is one of the many girls who get pregnant at funk parties in the state of São Paulo.

“We had girls between 10 and 14 years old, 3,400 of them were mothers. Mothers who registered their babies, so our calculation is that 10% of that, which is 340, got pregnant at baile funk. This represents almost one a day”, explains Albertina Duarte Takiuti, coordinator of the Adolescence Program of the State of São Paulo.

This number is from 2013. Since then, the coordinator of the Adolescence Program of the State of São Paulo decided to pay more attention to these girls and research who gets pregnant at funk parties.

Last month, she carried out a new survey with 96 young people and teenagers. The question was: "What do you think about having s***at funk parties?"

"The frightening thing about this survey is that only 37% condemn the fact of having a relationship or pregnancy at baile funk. That is to say, 47% don't think it's good or bad", says dr. Albertina.

The other 16% said they see no problem having s***at dances. "So, it's girls that we need to control diseases early on, from HIV to syphilis, and they really need to act very quickly".

These funk dances, or flows, pancadões, as young people usually call them, take place in the middle of the street, like one in the East Zone of São Paulo. Residents say that there are parties every weekend, with adults and teenagers alike. During the enjoyment, young people drink, use d**** and many have s***on the street.

"You already arrive, already look, there's already a bunch of boys coming after you, already kissing you, offering you a drink, telling you to get in the car to leave".

they have some classics but this sound is way more “dumbed down” if that makes sense but still hella abstract to be club music lol. it has the best of both of the worlds but I do see some arca influence
