why do you want to attach capital to earnest expression as if that wouldn't turn a passion into exploitation of talents or yet another pointless aggregator

Real question is what happened to the sextape where the mf shouts out KTT

Feel KTT is already on that level.

What forum has this type of impact?

    KTT had actual impact

    KTT2 doesn’t

Most of us here are users off KTT I don’t think we have gotten that many new users that just stumbled upon this forum that weren’t already familiar. But then again I don’t have the numbers to back that up

  • If it goes mainstream it goes to s***. Letterboxd is a good example

  • Jun 11, 2024

theres no reason for it to be anything other than a niche internet forum

ktt's time to move the needle has came and went, the artists on here making an impact are making an impact outside the label of being a "ktt artist"

its a tool for sharing music as much as instagram or twitter is for better and for worse

other then that, its just a place to s*** talk ab music and other things

make fun of ppl in lifr szn while giving sound advice on occasion

wanting anything more out of it is kinda delusional atp. its namesake is a goner and kanye reddit has been where kanye's camp lurks the most. thats all been confirmed these past few album cycles.

it'll never go mainstream and thats a good thing

finding great music or better yet; building community appreciating great art before the masses is a beautiful thing

where spaces like reddit fetishize / commodify black artists and their work, this space doesn't as much. u can call mf's c***on here. u can argue ab same age old hip hop s*** like ether vs takedown, would big L be bigger than biggie, and talk about weirdo experimental noise acts.

its brilliant as is, with its small pockets of genuine bonding and curiosity. this going mainstream would only kill it.

  • Jun 11, 2024

also monoculture ™️ means that even when users find great artists, no ones gonna have the priviliege of having an og weeknd, travis thread. those superstar level artists just arent emerging as they once have. now the people who wear their influences on their sleeves can directly connect to their audience without the ryan leslie independent obsession. u can balance being signed to a label while cultivating a small but dedicated fanbase. as long as they pay for tix at mid sized venues and merch u can have ur niche internet fanbase and still do well.
