And then, like, she kind of succeeded. She was kind of like second tier 2006. And then for her next album, she was like, oh s***, Justin and Nelly Furtado, they were actually right back in 2006. Like, okay, yeah, that was the future of music. I saw it all unfold. I saw Lady Gaga come up on the scene. And now it's early 2010. I need to f***ing catch up on them and release something quick. And let me get this polo da pon style now. And here it is. This is me trying to adapt to the modern music scene, just only f***ing 2 years late. And then she flopped. And that was basically the end of her mainstream career. What do you think about that?

I can’t really speak to her music around that time because by then I’d checked out, but it seems like she became too gimmicky.
I hated her 50/60’s era and that whole Marilyn Monroe thing she was doing.
I wish she’d drop a real RB album because she definitely has the voice for it.

seems like she was emerging alongside britney and could never define her sound nearly as well, nor manage to be as iconic. cant imagine that eminem diss helped either
her legacy act status atp boils down to loud singer who does runs but isnt a top tier vocalist, acquiescing to becoming a judge on the voice (after such shows lost pop culture appeal) and now sabrina carpenter stealing her youth lol
apparently she's also ecuadorian? maybe she could've leveraged that background in her music more akin to shakira but idk she always registered as basic white woman to me
