Everytime Desiigner had a "promo run" it was just random singles. Which is weird because he had been very vocal about him beinr ready to drop his album.

He was even hyping up "Life of Desiigner" specifically, as his debut album. Then the time came to drop it and all of a sudden its not an album anymore? That's not his fault.

everyone was waiting for him to drop an album but he just put out some unfinished songs

Pusha thought he could get in a seat of power in the industry and just start forcing artists into the mainstream. It usually works, but when there already exists a bigger and more talented version of what you’re trying to promote, then you’ll have a harder time. Especially without good music (his tape was bad but what came after was good at least).

Because niche markets are generally carried by word of mouth and quality of music , so it doesn’t make much sense to dump a huge budget into promo

Something very mainstream has tons of competition and people trying to take off , so promo sets them above each other
