I've always assumed that the change in sound for Yeezus had more to do with becoming a father than getting with Kim. He finished that album with a clear deadline in mind having recorded much of it during the third trimester of Kim's pregnancy and was trying to flush a lot of anger out of his system. I think he knew that was an album that would be harder to make once he was a dad.

His newest music being harder and more aggressive is just him vocalizing a lot of anger from the divorce and grief from the loss of his mother that he hasn't been able to shake.

bipolar disorder is exacerbated with both age and drastic changes in lifestyle, i.e. dating a very high profile celebrity with insane media connections/power. i also think kanye's always been insecure about kim regarding fidelity and that caused a lot of additional hypomania.

Being the man of a family entails a protector/bodyguard stance
