This isn’t really a Recovery song. Like “So Bad” and “On Fire”, these are songs that were created during the weird transition period between Relapse and Recovery. Where he stopped using accents like on Relapse, but hadn’t gotten into using multilayered screaming yet.

That’s why he didn’t stick to this sound. He hasn’t found “the sound” yet he was looking for.
