I mean, albums still take time to make no matter how creatively involved the lead artist is

GOAT run, held down 7 summers like Hov.
same with Cardi B
their fanbases have never really been tested for their loyalty.
kanye fans have been prepared to weather any storm
Comparing Rih to Cardi is crazy. Rih is one of the biggest artists ever, Cardi dropped one good album and is mostly a social media personality.
Your overall point isn't wrong but i would take much more than one mid album to change the perception and influence of Rihanna.

had this girl working like a machine even after being beaten
if she drops a smash, gr8. but if she flops it can affect her other businesses which are much more lucrative
Isn’t she rich enough at this point
rihanna's legacy way too cemented for her to be affected by a potentially mid album. I'm not seeing how it would impact her other ventures when those ventures are so far off the ground they took a life of their own now.
real answer is she just prolly tired of record cycles and is happy doing f*** all w the cash still flowing in.
